Celebrate Diwali, the Indian festival of lights with Chef Karthik Kumar, who is running a special menu this week and next. Until the 18th, sample food from Eastern India, which bears a strong resemblance to Chinese and Mongolian cuisine. Then, next week, try the foods of Western India, such as Portuguese-influenced Goan cuisine.

Cheryl Lins, maker of the delicious and very local Delaware Phoenix absinthe, will be giving a tasting of her traditional Walton Waters bottling and the more flowery and mild Meadow of Love bottling. If you've never tried the Green Fairy, the latter is a great way to pop your absinthe cherry.

Are you running the marathon this year? If so, order the special prix-fixe "Marathon Meal" and $10 will go to Malaria No More. Executive Chef Olivier Muller is running the marathon to raise funds and awareness for Malaria No More, a New York-based non-profit working to end malaria deaths in Africa. His three-course marathon meal features avocado salad, house-made whole wheat ravioli, and grape sorbet for dessert.
