The Greenmarket's annual food extravaganza has arrived. Chefs from Blue Hill, Daniel, Craft, Aquavit, and the Spotted Pig will prepare signature dishes to benefit the organization's Youth Education Project, which connects some 5,000 city kids to local farmers to learn about agriculture and eating seasonally. Jim Meehan of PDT and Julie Reiner from Clover Club will also be in attendance, stirring up fresh, seasonal cocktails for the occasion.

Austrian Wine Month kicked off yesterday and runs through November 22. Sample Austrian wines on special or enjoy wine-pairing dinners at participating restaurants, such as Blaue Gans, Cafe Katja, Klee Brasserie, L'Ecole, Seasonal Restaurant & Weinbar, and Watty and Meg. There'll be Rieslings and Gruner Veltliners, Zweigelts and Blaufrankisches, as well as a sweet selection of the country's renowned dessert wines.

Trappist Grand Tasting Redux

Missing this tasting of Trappist Monasteries beers would be pure sacrilege. Brews from all seven Trappist Monasteries will be paired with a seven-course dinner prepared by Resto chef Bobby Hellen. Offerings from Achel, Chimay, Koningshoeven, Orval, Rochefort, Westmalle, or Westvleteren will accompany such dishes as Steak Cannibal Mustard and Caper, Flemish Carrot Soup, and Waffle with Caramel for dessert.
