Heading to Choice Eats tonight? In between snacks and beers, keep an eye out for New York-based artist Tara McPherson's three-color silk screens of a noodle-slurper, seen above.

McPherson has worked on gig posters for Beck, Modest Mouse, and Melvins, and collaborated on toys with Kidrobot, Dark Horse, and Toy2R, to name a few. For Choice Eats, the artist has produced 150 of these 18-by-24-inch beauties and they'll be on sale at the event -- rolled up in easy-to-carry tubes so you don't stain them with chile oil! -- for $15 a piece.

We've very excited at FiTR today, because tonight is Choice Eats, an event we plan for all year long. This is the sixth annual version of the festival, which has been improved every year since the beginning. Now we have 86 restaurants, bakeries, and candy kitchens participating - and the roster varies every year, so there are always new things to try in addition to old favorites. As the actual event goes down, we participate, too, scurrying among the booths and collecting our own roster of snacks, treats, and beverages. Here's some advice we can give to Choice Eats newbies as well as veterans, some of it obvious, some not so.

The Village Voice and Fork in the Road is proud to announce further restaurants, bakeries, and candy kitchens participating in 2013's Sixth Annual Choice Eats tasting event.

It takes place Tuesday, March 19, 2013 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the 69th Regiment Armory on lower Lexington Avenue in Murray Hill.

The Village Voice is proud to announce the first 15 restaurants selected for its sixth annual Choice Eats tasting festival, to be held March 19th at the 69th Regiment Armory on Lower Lexington Avenue.

Tickets will go on sale tomorrow, Wednesday, January 16 at noon. Regular tickets, which guarantee admission from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm, and include all food and beverages from 50+ restaurants, are priced at $50. Also available are VIP tickets that include a separate series of tastings and staged events starting at 5:30 pm. At noon tomorrow, you can go here to purchase tickets.

The Village Voice and Fork in the Road are proud to announce the date for the Sixth Annual Choice Eats tasting event. Tickets will be on sale shortly, so please mark the date on your calendar: Tuesday, March 19, 2013.

As in the previous four years, the gala event will be held at the 69th Regiment Armory on Lexington Avenue, and will feature the usual complement of over 50 restaurants, plus beer, wine, and spirits. As with last year, there will be a DJ, a goody bag, and plenty of surprises. Slow Food will once again benefit from the event. And we've kept the price way down, too.
