Where Was I Eating that Salted Caramel Ice Cream Sundae? ABC Kitchen!

The dessert above sundae came from the pastry wizards at ABC Kitchen. An ample scoop of the sweet, burnt sugar ice cream is offset by candied peanuts and caramel popcorn. What really takes the dish from decadent to gut-busting, however, is the river of thick hot fudge sauce poured as a final flourish. The whole mess could crush dreams of a dairy-free diet in a single spoonful -- and it would be worth it.

Congratulations to eatthisny for correctly guessing the restaurant. Email us and we'll send you a cookbook. And, as always, check back next week to play another round of Where Am I Eating?

I was eating those mixed berry pancakes at at Rose Water Restaurant in Park Slope. Their seasonally-influced menu changes regularly, so this dish many not be available if you stop in for a visit. No worries. The restaurant prides itself on using the best local (or almost local) products they can find, so every visit is worth it.

Congratulations, JonDoe, for correctly guessing the restaurant. Email us and we'll send you a cookbook.

Where Am I Eating That Resolution-Breaking Brunch? Hint, Hint

Here's a hint: Those berry-filled pancakes came from the griddle of an intensely-seasonal Park Slope kitchen. The menu at this sweet Brooklyn spot is constantly rotating -- so go there soon, as the crepe fillings will change -- but the atmosphere is always cool and casual.

Congratulations to JonDoe, who was the first to correctly guess that I was eating at Roberta's in Bushwick. The kale pizza was dotted with thick dollops of ricotta cheese that melted into the slightly burnt crust.

Where Was I Eating Those Curls of Spiced Crisps? Balaboosta!

These off-the-menu (but on almost every table) yucca chips are deep-fried and dusted with paprika and salt before being served at Nolita favorite, Balaboosta. Served alongside the restaurant's "grind-it-yourself" hummus ($7) or eaten on their own, the crunchy bits are reminiscent of Spanish chicharrónes, the traditional fried pork rinds. Both dishes are equally addictive, but you'll feel a bit more virtuous -- and have more room for the rest of your meal -- crunching down on the yucca chips.
