In This Week's Issue: People Actually Like the Scissor Sisters!
Come on, can't we move on already? Not in the UK.
You might not give a shit about the Scissor Sisters, but Wembley Arena does -- 33,000 of them. In this week's Voice, Tricia Romano follows her old friend Jason Sellards (a/k/a New York's Jake Shears) to the UK, where his tabloid fodder of a dance-pop band sells 2.7 million records, hangs with Sir Elton, and headlines three-night arena-stands. Certainly sounds impressive for an outfit derided as the Village People 2.0 here in the States. But hold-onto-your-gay-boyfriend and look at these. (Static photo gallery here.)
That's a lot of people.
Music for squares, man.
Scissor Sisters, "Take Your Mama Out (Hot Chip Remix)" [The Blue Walrus]
Scissor Sisters, "Comfortably Numb" [The Music Slut]
Scissor Sisters, "I Don't Feel Like Dancin'" [Can You See the Sunset?]
