Hotpants Romance Coming to New York Next Month
A few weeks ago in this space, Everett True mentioned that he'd been fingerblasting the play button every time “I Don’t Wanna” by ladymen trio Hotpants Romance came on. "You seriously gotta love the Riot Grrrl fallout sometimes, especially when it veers into Gravy Train!!!-meets-Ramones fall-on screaming territory," Mr. XO typed. The only songs that the rest of us have heard from the Manchester trio are the handful of tracks posted on their MySpace page, along with the been-caught-eyeing cell-phone peephole video for "Sugar Dip." So far, so awfully good: sloppy, squat-popping, three-chord cacophony. Face it, the world can always use another grrl-punk Shaggs.
On the V-Day tip, Hotpants Romance are playing in New York (possibly Death by Audio?) next month. Tour dates and "Sugar Dip" video b'low. . .
