Thursday Is Officially 'Thriller' Night

Categories: Fuck a Blog

So the mighty Tribeca Film Festival begins tomorrow, a splendid union of the high-(Kassim the Dream) and low-(Baby Mama) brow. Veering delightfully to the latter side is Thursday night's main attraction: A "Tribeca Drive-In" celebration of Michael Jackson's "Thriller" video, celebrating its 25th anniversary. (We are old, friend. Oldddddddddd.)

Hosted by director John Landis, the screening/soiree includes a "Solid Gold Dance Party," a zombie face-painting station, and a Michael Jackson look-alike contest. (Robert Downey Jr. is not eligible.) Plus it's free, though as a friend notes, it's located "all the fuck out on the water."

Other Tribeca offerings for the musically minded include Adam Yauch's street-basketball doc Gunnin' for That #1 Spot, Lou Reed's Berlin, and War Child, about Sudanese hip-hop star Emmanuel Jai.
