It's amusing that STP will kickstart their triumphant reunion shows with a gig in Columbus, Ohio, continuing that time-honored tradition of starting a tour in some podunk backwater you don't really care about just in case you unleash some Van Halen-esque atrocity while shaking off the rust.

It seems superfluous to point out that Scott Weiland sounds pretty terrible, particularly on "Paper Heart," though that song still has one of my favorite '90s guitar solos. (I found it anticlimactic in Guitar Hero for some reason.) Dumbstruck by a thunderbolt of nostalgia, let me instead note that back during the actual reign of STP, during which I played bass in hideous local pop-rock bands, I thought their bassist was the shit; having matured and taken up blogging instead, I now find him a little busy.
