Jay-Z Will Tell You Exactly How to Vote In Michigan

Understanding that there are those who basically see SOTC getting excited for something like Jay-Z's "Boyz" remix as ridiculous—Christgau-ing ourselves, in other words—this new Jay-Z (literal) PSA will only confirm impressions that we basically don't care at all about music right now. But the feeling of being in it together, of the project being your project, my project, Jay-Z's project, etc., does, again, get at some weird music-as-unifying-communitarian sorting out of the good and bad, the right and the wrong, the provisional ballot vs the regular. Aren't guys like this around to help organize whole classes/generations of people, in addition to hopping on the occasional song? Or do I just continue to disappear down some goofily idealistic hole of my own invention?
