Björk to Team with Dirty Projectors for May Housing Works Benefit

bjork.jpg

We commend our friend, Brandon Stosuy, for convincing Björk and the Dirty Projectors to link up at Housing Works for a one-time-only collabo, in which Björk will perform music composed for her by DP auteur Dave Longstreth. We've spent many an afternoon or evening at Housing Works getting drunk in the name of the work the bookstore/charity does with AIDS and homeless, and their Crosby Street space has proved an elegant host to everything from last year's Gin Mingle to Soft Pink Truth to Mick Barr, who we witnessed soloing above a bemused crowd of fifty or so people and some really ecstatic children only a few Saturdays back. All proceeds from the concert, which is part of the store's "Live From Home" series, go to Housing Works. Brandon's already a proud board member of the charity (on top of a few other commitments, that is), but you might even call this one above and beyond. Find tickets, here, and further info, here.
