Week in Review: As A Dead Man Once Said, "Come As You Are"

In the week we reached for the shotgun, but hesitated, we also swallowed sadness.

Jadakiss went in at the Highline Ballroom and at Good Day New York. Chris Cornell took requests at Webster Hall. David Byrne sang in some castle basement. James and the Giant Peach got the Bushwick Book Club treatment. And Phoenix temporarily inaugurated spring on Saturday Night Live.

Bill O'Reilly will not stand for Eminem's assault on Sarah Palin's virtue, nor will he countenance Adam Lambert becoming the new Liberace. The Sri Lankan Government's war with M.I.A. continues, while Webster Hall is now ground zero for wacky body-fluid-centric hijinks.

Sunn O))) leaked Monoliths & Dimensions, for a few hours anyway. Bob Dylan unleashed "I Feel A Change Coming On." Eminem's "We Made You" is just an abysmal song. And, with apologies to Morrissey: Rancid's brand new "Last One To Die."

On the unfortunately named but still winsomely charming Now, Now Every Children. This week in horrendously offensive OJ Da Juiceman mixtape covers. Rich Boy's weed carrier-rich new mixtape. Asher Roth on STDs. Reason number 358 to sort of dislike KiD CuDi. David Foster Wallace, magazine writer.

Plus American Idol, Beatles Remasters, and Kalup Linzy's If It Don't Fit at the Studio Museum, which our correspondent Bones describes as "built to grow in the real world." A place we're heading off into, even now.
