Young Dro Rocks Diamonds
Dissenting opinions aside, we enjoy Young Dro's Wayne's World-informed enthusiasm for the finer things in life, even when those things are Yung L.A. or three endless minutes of "Right Now (Na Na Na)". Who else would get this exited about some random sample? "Hey man--we got Big on the hook! Bad Boy in the building! Puff, what's happenin'?!" As, for instance, anyone had actually bothered to clear the sample on "Dro Rock Diamonds," the latest in an entertaining streak that includes the alien-phaser-horn ship that is "Clean With It" and the much maligned Black Boy White Boy. This is a song about diamonds: black diamonds are Haitian, red diamonds are Cherokee, white diamonds are whiter than Penelope, whoever that is. Nobody anthropomorphizes material goods like this guy.
