Bob Dylan's New Album Sells About As Many Copies As That Last Shins Record

The received wisdom that the last people on the planet earth who actually buy physical copies of CDs are aging boomers who need music to listen to in their fancy cars as they drive around hotly anticipating the new Bob Dylan album took a hit today, as the Together Through Life sales figures came in. Zimmerman's number, which was good enough for the #1 spot? 125,000-or-so, meaning he sold only 50K copies more than Asher Roth, an artist who effectively didn't exist a year ago, and 10K less than Jadakiss, a man no human being outside of New York has ever really heard of. Congratulations? [Rolling Stone]
