Phil Spector's Prison Barber Is Extremely Relieved Right Now

Right. So that haggard, emaciated, disintegrating man in the photo above is Phil Spector, pictured sometime around day one of the 19 years to life he's serving in a California state prison for murdering the actress Lana Clarkson in the foyer of his gun-riddled mansion. According to the Smoking Gun, Spector's signature late-period hairstyle--a kind of brillo pad of towering white afro--was in fact a "fright wig." And in North Kern State Prison, no fright wigs are allowed. In other news, Phil Spector is not quite five feet tall.
