This Weekend! Gays Take to the Streets

This weekend's celebration of the Stonewall Riots' 40th anniversary culminates with the Gay Pride Parade, which features Governor Paterson as a Grand Marshal. The Nokia Theatre is hosting a Commemorative Concert and Love Ball to raise funds for Heritage of Pride, who have helped in organizing the march.

Singer Michael Feinstein has invited the angel-faced LGBT activist and Broadway star Cheyenne Jackson to his nightclub for the weekend. Later in the evening, Jackson will go burlesque all over celebrities' unwitting autobiographies at the Gramercy Theatre.

In Paved Paradise Redux, John Kelly sings Joni Mitchell in falsetto and drag -- a performance at once madcap and captivating. The show runs its final weekend at the Abrons Arts Center.

Just in case you're finding all this free love business a bit overwhelming:

On Friday, classic Jersey indie-rockers the Feelies do an acoustic show, and Blonde Redhead play the Prospect Park Bandshell for free.

New Orleans icon Allen Toussaint returns to the city for a set at Joe's Pub on Sunday, while Joe Lovano's bop-based quintet and the Gypsy/Israeli 3 Cohens Sextet go all weekend.
