Tonight! Who's the Better Scion? Ziggy Marley or Dinosaur Jr.?

Adult Swim's team of terrorists and aliens have organized a summer-long series of free shows at Santos' Party House. Tonight, New Pornographers frontman A.C. Newman joins Cheeseburger, the Woggles, and, apparently, "a hockey-mask-wearing burlesque review." [ED: Shouldn't that be "revue"? Or will someone in a hockey mask be reviewing a burlesque performance?]

Orishas' strongest case against Castro's colorless society is their impassioned live show; the rhythm section has chops to rival the Roots. The internationally acclaimed Cuban trio does its only New York date of the year at S.O.B.'s.

So what if J. Mascis can only sort-of shred on a skateboard? Give him a Marshall stack and your belly is minced meat. Dinosaur Jr. plays the Music Hall of Williamsburg.

Props to Ziggy Marley, whose most recent album is a kitschy celebration of family life, for developing a normalized sense of same despite being raised by Bob and Rita Marley. He supports 311 tonight at Central Park SummerStage.
