Preview the New Merge Records Book, Then Go See Superchunk Tomorrow Night
Cheating a bit here, as we peripherally know one of the dudes involved (no, not Ryan Adams), but nonetheless Our Noise: The Story of Merge Records, out in September, seems to be a splendid little tome, as evinced by this snazzy-ass website, which in addition to tossing out an illustrated timeline and a few excerpts and pics and whatnot promises a "secret" upcoming webchat with label founders Mac McCaughan and Laura Ballance. Ask them when the new Neutral Milk Hotel record is coming out, they love that shit. Or you can just harass 'em in person tomorrow night at South Street Seaport, when Superchunk plays a free River to River show with Versus.
