On the Surprisingly Sexy Video to Pink Mountaintops's "Execution"
Pink Mountaintops released the ridiculously gorgeous Outside Love back in May, the band's third LP. On it, bandleader and Black Mountain moonlighter Stephen McBean pulled a last album Magnetic Fields trick, making a Jesus & Mary Chain record with all the wrong instruments. But Outside Love is more ebullient than suicidal--it's fitting that the band rounded up a quintet's worth of beautiful models to perform in the video for "Execution," a kind of eye-candy acknowledgement of the song's ample glamour and allure.
