Spike Lee Is Throwing Michael Jackson A Birthday Party
This one pretty much can't miss. Jackson, who is set to be buried on his birthday out in Glendale, California, will get a NYC birthday send-off as well--Spike Lee is throwing a block party in his honor at Fort Greene Park. From 12pm-5pm, DJ Spinna will play Jackson jams exclusively, which is not so different from what's been happening all over Brooklyn ever since Michael died. "At the end, we'll all sing Happy Birthday to Michael," Spike Lee told The Root. "We're going to make sure he hears us, too. All over the world, people are going to be celebrating his birthday. But he's going to hear Brooklyn; Brooklyn is going to be in the house. Deep."
