--Spike Lee's Brooklyn Block Party for Michael Jackson's birthday, which recently was moved from Fort Greene to Prospect Park, is expected to draw 10,000 people to the grossly named Nethermead in the heart of the park tomorrow. Things are supposed to go off rain or shine, although expect that number to dip precipitously should it rain. New York trees are not safe right now.

--After the Jump Festival has finally arrived. Tonight Javelin, Dinosaur Feathers, My Teenage Stride, and Holiday Shores kick things off tonight at Littlefield, in South Brooklyn. Das Racist, Free Energy, and the Drums go tomorrow, along with a bunch of others, and Suckers and Acrylics hold things down come Sunday. More info over here.

--Our blood brothers at Impose have organized a benefit for 826NYC at the Yard. It starts tomorrow at 1pm, and will feature SOTC buddies Silver Summit, Psychic Ills, Screaming Females, Zs, and many more. There are also tables! At which vendors like the Social Registry, Electric Literature, Bicycle Paintings, etc. , will vend. Also, Cinema 16 will be screening films. Sounds like a good time, unless it rains, which it probably will. But it's a benefit, so maybe show up anyway.
