Genesis P-Orridge's 30 Years of Being Cut Up Now Open at Invisible-Exports

Earlier this year, he reformed Throbbing Gristle, presenting the band's first ever New York concert and first show on American soil in 28 years. In a few weeks, he'll play the Ordo Templi Orientis U.S.A.-organized Musicka Mystica Maxima Festival at Santos Party House. And, on Wednesday, Genesis P-Orridge opened "a three decade retrospective of photomontage and Expanded Polaroids" at Invisible-Exports. 30 Years of Being Cut Up is meant to "mark the culmination of a new, re-emergent phase in BREYER P-ORRIDGE's life"--the "Breyer," of course, for Jacqueline Breyer, a/k/a Lady Jaye, P-Orridge's soulmate and partner in "Pandrogeny," the duo's body-modification art program that ended with Jaye's death in 2007, at age 38. But they--as P-Orridge prefers the prounouns, even still--are rebounding, and 30 Years, which runs through October 13, is the coda to that rebound. See it this weekend. [h/t Brooklyn Vegan]
