One Last Live Shot at Phoenix, Whose Central Park Shows Are Both Sold Out

Categories: Featured, Phoenix

Both of Phoenix's shows in Central Park later this month are sold out, which would be tough luck for those who haven't seen the band this year--the Phoenix live experience these days being titanic and note-perfect but also kind of moving, all at once--except that Pepsi and VMAs and the AIDS charity LIFEbeat have teamed to bring the band to New York one last extra time in 2009. On September 12th, at 650 West 56th Street, the band will play with Kid Cudi (whose album might suddenly be available on the internet today, if you were looking for such a thing) in advance of the MTV Video Music Awards. The ubiquitous Clinton Sparks and, for some reason, Gary "Baba Booey" Dell'Abate will also be in attendance. All for a good cause, of course: LIFEbeat is a music industry charity that does AIDS awareness and prevention work among young kids, and most of the proceeds of this concert are heading their way. Tickets here, plus more info at Pepsi's DJ Collective, over here.
