Week in Review: I Say "Your Alley" with the Utmost Respect
Short weeks are the longest of them all, aren't they? In honor of the rain and cold outside, and in the interest of killing just a bit more time before it gets good and dark, let's run things back. Relive the week that was at Jay-Z's secret MySpace concert (one down, one more to go tonight), last weekend's Electric Zoo electro-nostalgia fest, Warp's birthday party at Terminal 5, live on the purple carpet for Raekwon's record release show at Santos, and deep inside the newly constructed maze at the Death By Audio. The Vivian Girls took us track by track through their new Everything Goes Wrong, while Brooklyn kraut-metal dudes Naam lent us their new "Skyling Slip" to give to you. Ditto for Julianna Barwick's really plainly beautiful "Bode"--bonus points for the TONY video of her doing her thing live. We took a few years off our life and gathered 15 of Courtney Love's most insane Tweets, which are sort of stunning side by side by side. And speaking of taking years off of lives, perhaps you'd care to recollect eight particularly death-dealing, drug-procuring, celebrity doctors? No? Lighter fare? How about our interview with Glee star Lea Michele? Better? Great. We're gone till Monday, plus or minus a recap of tonight's MSG Jay-Z action and Sunday's VMAs insanity. In the meantime, plenty more, directly below.
This is how we roll now. Photo of Electric Zoo inappropriateness by Puja Patel.
