ATTN Verizon Wireless Worker Who Put M.I.A. on Hold: You're On Her New Record

Us mortals are driven insane by the endless hours we spend on the phone with Verizon tech support, trying in vain to get our cable fixed. Not M.I.A. According to a recent Q+A with Rolling Stone the singer, whose record as-yet-untitled third record comes out this summer, extracted payback from the Filipino Verizon workers who kept her on hold for hours and hours by asking them to sing the hook on one of her new songs. As she told the mag:

I was having issues with my cable and wireless, and I was on the phone [with tech support] for three hours, and I thought, 'Maybe this needs to be part of my music, could you just learn these lyrics and sing it down the phone to me?' Ten phone calls later, I have Internet that sticks and a song.

This totally beats the time she and Diplo got those Brixton kids outside her studio to sing the hook on the "Paper Plains" remix. Oh yeah, and the song title: "I'm Down Like Your Internet Connection." May it soundtrack customer-service training videos for years to come.
