• This is my 8th year to SXSW from San Francisco and I haven't bought a wristband in 7 years...and yet I have over 500 parties listed on my agenda. No need to spend any money...

• Dan...4000 is hardly most locals. it's kinda true. I've gone to sxsw for years and never purchased a wristband...and always had plenty of free booze and free food...and great music. The only thing I've ever spent money on at sxsw was tips for the bartenders. Dont forget that!

• "Most Austinites don't even purchase wristbands anymore"??...The 4,000 locals-only wristband allotment sold-out in like 6 hours last week.

• The wrist band is definitely not worth purchasing. way too many free shows and stuff. I totally agree. However, some parties require RSVP and are totally worth it, since they have free booze :)

• I don't mean to sound snarky or whatev, but Scott and Wade, did y'all even read the article? Y'all must have been so excited you skipped over the part about the party being free-for-all, first come, first serve. Most of the SXSW day parties are this way. And if they aren't, you probably don't want to go to it. Most Austinites don't even purchase a night time wristband anymore...because all the bands playing official showcases at night are usually playing 5-10 different unofficial day party shows.

• I don't think there are any RSVPs, it says first come first serve and i'm pretty sure its unofficial.
