Stream Gil Scott-Heron's I'm New Here

​By most accounts, the last decade wasn't one of the easiest for Gil Scott-Heron, who spent much of the aughts in and out of New York prisons and drug rehab facilities. But credit to XL for getting him back into the studio--I'm New Here, out next week, is a real, serious record, affecting far beyond its minimal running time. The album is streaming at Scott-Heron's website now or right here (below), front to back, Kanye samples, Bobby Bland/Smog covers, and all. "New York Is Killing Me" is entirely his own, and that's as good a place to start as any.
