If you like your ladies in out-of-this world glittering bodysuits, check out Leslie, a/k/a Mother Gem (the name hints at her collection of shiny jumpsuit splendor, as seen above), and her band the Ly's at Mercury Lounge, where the synth-pop band will induce a keytar frenzy. At the Bell House Tinariwen (via Mali) brings the heat with authentic Sahara/Touareg blues; they're joined by Fool's Gold, a troupe of L.A.-bred, globetrotting indie rockers with an authentic-sounding (at least) Afro-pop sound. (Our chat with them is here.) To top off your Friday night, Lee Fields & the Expressions funkify MHOW with sweet-as-molasses vocals and hard-hitting rhythms. Could you expect any less from Lee, who's been at it since the '70s, when he worked with Kool and the Gang and Sammy Gordon?

On Saturday, New York Night Train's Soul Clap & Dance-Off (pulls into the station at Glasslands Gallery), where DJ Jonathan Toubin spins solid-gold '60s-soul magic. Note the $100-grand-prize dance-off. Meanwhile, Crystal Stilts are at MHOW with their groaning, moody, bare-bones garage rock, alongside Beach Fossils and the Beets. For those who like their music scrambled and fried, go no farther than Shea Stadium, where Mouthus and Sightings proffer nightmarishly distorted, mind-jarring noise that's pleasurably berserk.

As for Sunday night, Dum Dum Girls and Happy Birthday bring lo-fi riot-grrrl pyrotechnics to Mercury Lounge. And since Williamsburg thinks it's so special it's having its own Fashion Week(end), Glasslands Gallery will be hosting local designers those two days and letting it all hang out with MNDR, whose mosquito-pitched vocals and ground-shaking synths will jolt you back to consciousness, just in time for Monday.
