Magical Brooklyn duo Sleigh Bells have broken an unofficial silence to announce the name of their much-anticipated debut--Treats, which sounds about right--and the date and label on which it'll be out: New York indie Mom + Pop (which also snagged Tokyo Police Club last year) and M.I.A.'s NEET Recordings will partner to bring Treats out on May 11, a week after the band plays Webster Hall with Yeasayer. No surprise to see M.I.A. in there--as we reported earlier this year, Sleigh Bells guitarist Derek Miller did production on M.I.A.'s own forthcoming record. This is a New York movement we can totally get behind. They're at SXSW all week, like the rest of the world. We'd tell you where but we're not going, personally, so you'll just have to figure it out yourself.
