Take a look above at Holy Fuck. Those blank, wide-eyed creatures make berzerker caveman grooves, a primitive stomping of drums and keyboard mashing. This vented fury is best exemplified by their MySpace quote: "Who the fuck is Bilbo Baggins?!" They begin your Friday night at Cake Shop. Meanwhile, Adam Green is releasing his low-voiced country narcissism at the Bowery Ballroom with support from Nickel Eye a/k/a Nikolai Fraiture, the guy with the huge chin from the Strokes. Over at Maxwell's, fuzzy femme-fatales Vivian Girls are playing a set with the more distortion-forward Reading Rainbow. Continuing to salvage Market Hotel nights that never came to be, Monster Island is housing the "Psychedelic Tits" loving Harlem. Their over-caffeinated, scraggily guitar jams are to to be matched by Girls at Dawn, the potential arch-nemesis of the Vivian Girls. But to avoid the ear-aching feedback altogether, stop chastising yourself for missing out on Gang Gang Dance and Hot Chip at Terminal 5, as the latter is DJing at Webster Hall for one dollar with an RSVP. Thanks economy!

On Saturday, Titus Andronicus, who we championed sometime ago, is performing at Maxwell's alongside Harlem. To refresh your memory on Titus Andronicus, we highlighted one specific track of theirs for its "marching drums and frenetic guitar juxtaposed with shout-outs to both minor-league baseball team the Newark Bears and martyred abolitionist John Brown." Brown's inebriated forerunners, Das Racist, are sharing the stage with Boy Crisis at 92Y. Over at the Knitting Factory, Black Moth Super Rainbow sideproject TOBACCO presents their beat pumped, psycho-synth sludge, much to the manic meat-eater's delight. Then at P.S. 1, Real Estate, whose homeland is a "kind of shitty" neighborhood in north New Jersey, vent their suburban frustration in the form of sunshine anxious lo-fi. To close the evening, watch that HEALTH video (you know, the one where some blond girl is being chased by a blade-wielding oath), then see the brutal rockers themselves at Solar One with support from Cold Cave and DJ Andrew W.K.

Okay, Sunday. The previous two days are crammed, and so the only solution is to grab BBQ, specifically that of the 17th Annual WBAR-B-Q. The event is curated by Barnard's brilliantly themed radio station ("Mojitos With Marinetti" is their international punk show, for example) and stars the electro-thumping drama of Cold Cave. Elsewhere, having performed her first live show "literally ever" at the beginning of year, the Beck produced Charlotte Gainsbourg is set to play at Webster Hall. Ending the weekend is Real Estate at the Bowery Ballroom, thereby allowing you to ease your tired ears with reverb-soaked, suburban doldrums.
