Tonight! Beach Fossils, Woods w/ the Joshua Light Show, Phosphorescent, Everybody Was In The French Resistance...Now!, These are Powers, Buzzcocks, Das Racist, And Lady Gaga w/ Elton John

Tonight, The Deli's "Best of NYC" festival kicks off with Beach Fossils, the sensitive, disaffectedly distorted surf bums with a mobile drummer. At the Abrons Art Center, the Joshua Light Show splashes lava-lamp gurgling, polka-dotted hallucinogen projections atop Woods, a lo-fi folk act whose psychedelia connection to Mr. Joshua White comes in the form of the band's sample-crazy tape manipulator G. Lucas Cane. Once again, steel guitar and reverb-gushing countrymen Phosphorescent take the stage at Mercury Lounge, while Art Brut's Eddie Argos pilots his side project, Everybody Was In The French Resistance...Now!, as they perform hokey and self-aware tunes at Union Hall. Elsewhere, malfunctioning-computer ravers These Are Powers star at Santos Party House. (Apparently they're known for their intense performances: "Oh my god. @thesearepowers is raping the shit out of @coco66. What THE fuck.") At the Fillmore, Brit-punk icons Buzzcocks return to celebrate the reissue of their first two albums (one of which includes the always-delightful "Orgasm Addict.") All the while, White Castle-craving, Voice-contributing party-rap duo Das Racist headline at Le Poisson Rouge as another duo, Lady Gaga and Sir Elton, unite at Carnegie Hall to save some trees and stuff.
