Tonight! Teeth Mountain, Arbouretum, Pontiak, And Jeff Daniels

Teeth Mountain on Judge Judy, for old time's sake.

So, Teeth Mountain, the band that appeared on Judge Judy to settle a case of smashed TV's and the untimely (alleged) death of Trips the Cat, is headlining Silent Barn tonight. Ironically, despite the group's self-destructive tendencies, their music is a combination of meditative, tribal drum patter and snake-charmer flutes. Meanwhile, as recommended by the Voice's own Mikael Wood, Thrill Jockey label-mates Arbouretum ("brainy indie-folk") and Pontiak ("boogie-rock thing with plenty of skanky-ass guitar fuzz") team up for an evening at Santos Party House. Lastly, actor Jeff Daniels (Dumb and Dumber, God of Carnage) takes the stage at City Winery, where he will sing blues-based odes to lost loved ones (see "Grandfather's Hat") and culinary prowess (see "Tomato Pudding").
