Starting tonight, LCD Soundystem begin their four-show, all-sold-out NYC stint -- without a ticket or the bankroll to deal with Stubhub et al, the closest you're getting to James Murphy's sardonic devastation is Zach Baron's article on that very subject. Elsewhere, Truman Peyote, a band that chants with the jubilation of Animal Collective and makes divorce sound just peachy, stars at Cameo Gallery, while scraggily lo-fi pop scoundrels Veronica Falls and friends kick off NYC Pop Fest at the Cake Shop. Meanwhile, the Proclaimers (you know, the "I would walk 500 miles..." dudes) are touring their latest rockabilly anthems at City Winery; with like-minded marathon intentions (i.e. 29 songs and two encores), Pearl Jam assemble at Madison Square Garden. Finally, for those who have finally accepted the scholarly merit of "Combination Pizza Hut and Taco Bell," you can catch party-rappers Das Racist performing alongside antsy alt.rockers the Rassle at Pianos.
