Kanye West Meets the Gilded Coffin of Tjuya: An Imaginary Conversation

Recently, Kanye West returned from retirement to visit New York and the "Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs" exhibition at the Discovery Times Square Exposition. "He said it was something he really wanted to see," a representative for the show told MTV News. West brought with him some jewelry--a necklace depicting Horus, the Egyptian god of the sky, and a gigantic pyramid ring to match. A photo of the whole thing, with Kanye standing next to the 700-year-old gilded coffin of King Tut progenitor Tjuya, inevitably surfaced. We went back and time and eavesdropped.

Kanye West: THE THING THAT YOU WORSHIPPED IS NOW ON A CHAIN AROUND MY NECK. IT COST THREE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS. I CAN'T LIFT MY RIGHT HAND.

The Gilded Coffin of Tjuya: Your old ring was smaller, it's true.

Kanye West: REMEMBER THE FATE OF THOSE WHO REMAIN IN THE BACKGROUND. AN AFRICAN CREATED THE ORIGINAL LAYOUTS FOR THE PYRAMIDS, BUT HE WAS WRITTEN OUT OF THE HISTORY BOOKS AND HIS MTV AWARD WAS GIVEN TO 'ALIENS.'

The Gilded Coffin of Tjuya: You know it's been five months since Alexander McQueen died? Seems like longer, somehow.

Kanye West: I MISS HIM EVERY DAY.
