Behold the amazing talents of Ryan Dombal.
In the week someone introduced us to the term "rap sabbatical," we got investigative, bringing news of the newfound hip-hop ban at Savalas (which sent DJ Ayres packing), HARD Fest's harsh words for M.I.A., Lil Wayne's preferential jail treatment, the return of the Shank, the Cake Shop's Kickstarter swoon, and more. We also coined the term "advice rap," but maybe that's neither here nor there.

Other value added things!: a brief catalog of all the other musicians Marnie Stern has dissed, a comprehensive evaluation of the "Play Guitar With Pavement" finalists, rating the ridiculous musical performances of Fashion Week 2010, and our beloved Bieber Bowl, a/k/a SOTC's 2010 MTV Video Music Awards live blog.

Jay-Z and Eminem brought out Dr. Dre, Kanye West, Beyoncé, Nicki Minaj, Drake, Swizz Beatz, and Chris Martin (??!!) at Yankee Stadium, Das Racist celebrated the release of Sit Down, Man (the mixtape's best lines are collected here) with a few hundred of their closest friends, James Murphy DJ'd the Hudson Hotel, Chloe 81 hosted Chromeo's album release party, Maluca and AraabMusik headlined our own personal Fashion's Night Out, Fluffy Lumbers and Coasting shared a release party at Dead Herring, Todd P's Acoustic BBQ survived a bunch of rain, and Panda Bear played Governors Island.

Detroit Producer Black Milk told us about his top ten albums of the last decade, Insane Clown Posse talked juggalo magic, Justin Bieber, and being rich, Roc Marciano stopped by to give away "Raw Deal," the So So Glos took us behind the scenes of their "Lindy Hop" jam, and for good measure, here is Escort's not-exactly-retro-disco single "Cocaine Blues."

Plus the Dismemberment Plan reunion, the best of the #rockretractions hashtag, Jay-Z at Fashion Week, the return of Matt & Kim, and more, below. We're back on Monday.
