Bright Eyes Playing Radio City Music Hall In March, To Celebrate Their New Record

conor oberst.jpg
You may regard Conor Oberst and his ongoing Bright Eyes concern as emblematic of a pasty, Paste-addled strain of whiny indie rock, but as such they can still be wildly entertaining: Last time I saw him, Oberst was kicking the crap out of a toy piano (with help from Dave Rawlings!) onstage at Town Hall. It can be wildly amusing, generally, to watch someone take themselves so seriously. Anyway, he's coming back here in 2011 to trash some more gear.

To celebrate the February release of new Bright Eyes album The People's Key (really looking forward to "Haile Selassie"), Conor will be bringing the band to Radio City Music Hall Wednesday March 9, alongside Sleater-Kinney offshoot Wild Flag and SOTC obsession Superchunk. Presale tickets at noon Wednesday, the rest of 'em available Saturday morning. If it sells out, he promises not to play this.
