Watch Titus Andronicus' Jersey Travelogue "No Future Part Three: Escape From No Future"
It's true, as Titus Andronicus frontman states in the prelude to his band's video for "No Future Part Three: Escape From No Future", that New Jersey has taken a bit of a beating, reputation-wise, over the past year or so, thanks in large part to the many reality-TV depictions of the Garden State as a wasteland of spray tan, cheap alcohol, and braggadocio. (Although I'll ride hard for Jerseylicious, the show about the hair salon. What can I say, it reminds me of my own Long Island youth.) In an effort to serve as a corrective, the Tom Scharpling-directed clip shines a light on other parts of the state--the forests of Pine Barrens, the Carousel House in the shore town of Asbury Park, a front yard in Little Egg Harbor, a cramped house party in New Brunswick, and, finally, a Jersey City rooftop--and showcases the band's amazing live show in the process.
