Lil Wayne's Tha Carter IV Pushed Back Yet Again

Categories: Lil Wayne

There's still time to change the cover, you know.
After originally being slated to come out the day last November when he got out of jail, Lil Wayne's Tha Carter IV has been pushed back from June 21 to August 29. Of course, delays are nothing new to today's scared-of-its-own-shadow record industry; Tha Carter III, in fact, was pushed back quite a few times before eventually hitting stores—and selling a boatload of copies—in June 2008. There's been no reason given for the latest pushback, but here's what Wayne had to say about the album in February 2010, right around the time his rock "experiment" Rebirth came out:

"Yeah, Tha Carter IV, interesting," Wayne told radio host Tim Westwood with a smile. "Very interesting. It's interesting, I hope so, I hope it's incredible and all those things. But like I said, I think they know the velocity of Carter IV without me even having to speak on it. I think they know what that's gonna be. It should be [a defining moment]. It should be. Honestly, it should be."

Who knows? Maybe he's decided to re-record the whole thing to be more in line with the Mrazzy slow-jam feel of "How To Love," which came out last week and which is really better than anything that can be described as "sorta 'I'm Yours'-y" should be:
