Make These Hall and Oates Inspired Cocktails
On Tuesday night a couple hundred beautiful people/industry types gathered on the rooftop penthouse of The Kimberly Hotel and were plied with free Woody Creek vodka. There was free food too, and the types of wild, clear nighttime views of the Chrysler building and Manhattan that immediately make you feel like somebody. The people on hand were there weren't there for that, though. They were there for John Oates.

It's been a big week for Oates. Not only was he inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame last night at Barclays (where he scored one of the biggest laughs of the night) with longtime songwriting partner Darryl Hall, but Tuesday saw the release of his latest solo album, Good Road to Follow. Oates is playing songs from the album at a solo set tonight at The Cutting Room and on Tuesday the smooth sounds of Good Road sound-tracked the Kimberley Hotel rooftop. The album features Vince Gill, Bekka Bramlett, Hot Chelle Rae and production work by the likes of Teddy Morgan, Mike Henderson, Tom Bukovac, and Oates himself, among others. It's quite good (listen here), especially when you've got a few Hall & Oates inspired cocktails swimming in your system. The menu at Oates release party featured five H&O inspired cocktails, all made with Woody Creek vodka. Our favorite of the bunch was the "She's Gone," but, then again, we've always been giant fans of cucumber-rose syrup, and have always thought it reminded us of the storied and robust catalog of the artists that inspired the drink.
Get your barspoon of jalapeno pepper jelly ready, it's John Oates drinkin' time:
