Ghostface on Wu Tang Situation: "It's Serious"

Posted by Camille Dodero at 3:30 PM, December 4, 2007

In tomorrow's tree killer, main music man Rob Harvilla got Ghostface Killah on the line to talk about his new solo joint, The Big Doe Rehab, along with that draw-blood thorny Wu Tang situation.

"RZA is fumbling the ball," Ghost says. "You know what I mean? Fumblin' the ball. He wanna do what he do, when we trying to tell him, like, 'Yo, man, do this or do that.' His music wasn't sounding like how it was when we first came in. And it's hurting us. People want that old Wu-Tang shit, but you tryin' to make new shit—tryin' to play live instruments, instead of just goin' to the crates and just do what you do best. You still a master at what you do, but right now you ain't lookin' like that master, 'cause you tryin' to do other stuff. We were just upset with the way things was comin' out."

And by the sound of it, ODB's resurrection is more likely than a Wu Tang reconciliation.

[I]s it possible to make peace? "I'm not sure," Ghost says. "I can't tell you that, because it's serious with Wu-Tang Clan right now. It's serious. So I don't know." What would have to happen for everyone to reconcile? "I can't even tell you. I can't even tell you. I can't even tell you."

This shit sounds more dire everyday.

I still have and will never lose faith in The Wu. RZA's the founder creator... Group never woulda been esembled if not for the all mighty RulerZagZigAllah. But I am with Ghost on some of the shit he says, That classic Wu Sound hasn't been in full effect for a while. Starting with "36" ( Maybe greatest hiphop album of all time, bold statement I know) then Meth's solo was just god enough in my opinion. But liquid Swords, IronMan, and only built 4 Cuban Linx are all nothing but classics strait up and down. I like 8 diagrams, but honestly overall and a bit dissapointed, album has some raw shit, I'll be bumping it for while no doubt, but it ain't that classic RawCore signature Wu Shit we've all been feinin' for ( Change is allways good and neededBut if you're gonna switch shit up, it better be on ht eprogress, and not digress tip.). I found Masta Killah's No Said Date to be very refreshing as well as unexpected on how Ill and consistant the whole album was. allright, too many words, I'm out.
