Jay-Z About To Put That Whole Not Writing Things Down Thing To the Test

jay-zdoa.jpg
Props to friend of SOTC Leon Neyfakh for working in a quote from "Money, Cash, Hoes" in a story about how Jay-Z may be writing a book "commenting on and telling the stories behind his lyrics." The deal is with Random House's Spiegel & Grau imprint, which seems to have rejected two other proposals from Jay's agent, one that was meant to be a 50 Cent-style business book, and one that would've been an autobiography. Neyfakh took this couplet to augur something special: "Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn, took on the world / Shit, I led a life you can write a book on / Sex, murder, and mayhem, romance for the street / Man and I'll tell ya, it'll be a best seller!" If Sean's smart, he'll tap this guy to do the writing the hand that doesn't write presumably will refuse to do, when in fact finally asked to write. [Observer]
