Rep Peter King Continues Anti-Michael Jackson Rant Into Monday, Observes Reverent, Respectful Day of Silence Tuesday

Categories: Michael Jackson, feuds, politics, rants, speaking ill of the dead

Angry GOP Congressman Peter King is not backing down from his remarks, posted on YouTube over the weekend, alleging that the deceased pop star Michael Jackson was a "pervert" and a "low life" who "did some dancing" in between molesting kids. CBS 2 HD gave King an opportunity to fan his own flames, asking the congressman yesterday whether he regretted speaking ill of a dead man. Instead he launched into a further tirade about the "orgy of glorification" Jackson's been enjoying since he passed, adding:

"Yes, he did violate young boys. He did put them in terribly inappropriate positions. And that's a terrible signal to be sending out to society -- that we're somehow condoning that behavior. And you are condoning it when you give him the type of --- when we give him the type of regal coverage! And millions of people fighting to get to this mega-memorial! I mean, this is --- this is wrong!"

Gracefully, King then added that although he was perfectly content to rant and rave about a dead man who was beloved by millions over the long weekend that preceded Jackson's memorial, he would nobly keep silent on the day itself: "I will not be speaking tomorrow, on the day of his memorial. I mean, here's a guy who had so much; in the end, he really had very little." So at least there's that. Meanwhile, Democrats are apparently already using the congressman's rant to raise money for as-yet-unchosen Democratic contender for King's House seat. May their campaign song be "They Don't Care About Us."

Hiding FromLiberalAttacks says:

The facts are that Jackson DID pay off a family whose child accused him of molestation (wonder why); he DID admit to sleeping with young boys regularly; he DID bleach his skin white which in rioting over his death the black community conveniently forgets; he DID (with Madonna) start the vile practice of buying songs and listing his name as the composer on material he DID NOT WRITE; and he DID so self-mutilate himself with plastic surgery to fulfill his own warped self-image that he no longer had a nose. Anyone that isn't a bit repulsed by the size and deceit of the Jackson coverage is morally retarded.

MICHAEL THE NARC-ANGEL

Millions of little members of the worldwide F.F.A. (Future Followers of the Antichrist) have finally learned how to find a certain part of their lower anatomy and quickly touch it while dancing - thanks to Michael Jackson, the highest paid Lower Anatomy Toucher of all time! Special thanks also go to the Jesus-bashing, Hell-bound Hollywood moguls who were just as quick to see higher profits in lower anatomies! [Just saw this opinion on the web. Other grabby items on MSN, Google, etc. include "Separation of Raunch and State," "David Letterman's Hate, Etc.," "Tribulation Index becomes Rapture Index," and "Bible Verses Obama Avoids." - something for everyone!]

King, like many Republicans always get angry when African Americans get any kind of positive spotlight. To them AAs are nothing more than characters in news reports involving drive-by shootings or armed robberies. Keep it up, neocons, and give the Democrats an easy victory in 2010.

Yet again another white man angry of the positive coverage a black man is given. Michael Jackson, whether he and some of you all, like it or not was acquitted in a court of law of molesting young boys. Perhaps you all need to get over your racists behavior and get a life. Michael Jackson was the greatest entertainer that ever lived and you all cannot stand it. Yes, he is bigger than Elvis and I am from Memphis and can admit it. You all are pathetic and tired.

RIP Michael Jackson. Sadly these people won't even leave you alone in death.

Gary Smith says:

If "positive coverage" for M. Jackson is the kind of thing that the Black community wants, may God have mercy on them.

Peter King: finally a politician who is more concerned with the truth than with political correctness.

A nation that exalts filth & excuses perversion will deserve what it gets, unfortuately.

Look guys. Did he make good music.. yes (if you like that music) more fans than anyother did. Give em that.

But he slept in the same bed with kids. Put a fuckin ferris wheel and his backyard and ran around with party hats on.

Paid off a kids parents because he sexually molested the young boy. This guy was a sicko. If I did this I would be fukking CRUCIFIED. He had money to pay it off and he could sing (I didn't even think that good.. but other did.) and that's why he got off of that charge.

If I could play baseball and basketball at the pro level or sing I could touch little kids all day and it'd be cool.

This fukkin creep gets away with it. Don't get me wrong.. I don't wish this death on him and I don't on anybody.

But why in the sweet hell are we patronizing a pedafile? When he's burried about 423873676 families across the contenant will all breath one huge collective sign of relief.

short and sweet. this man is a hater pandering to his constituency and like-minded thinkers. this politician voted to send our men and women into harm's way. thousands have died because of his actions. how many deaths are michael jackson responsible for?

one more thing. MJ is getting the coverage because his story brings in ad revenue. the network that does not cover it will lose viewers and money. i am an American currently overseas and outside the US, MJ is a global icon. no one else outside the US knows who Peter King is and they don't care. for King to belittle the significance of Michael Jackson, and not to acknowledge his humanitarian contributions and his impact on pop culture of which electronic media plays an indispensable role, speaks to his own ignorance

Daniela Australia says:

This issue is not a republican versus democratic issue, it's a human rights issue. Congressman Peter King may well be a joke, I certainly don't agree with his homophobic diatribe... but I can't agree more with what "Hiding From Liberal Attacks" said above. The magnitude of Michael Jackson's celebrity and the type of delusion this creates in the public: ie - 'he's the king etc' is horrifying. Think for one moment as MJ as a human being - just like you and me - think - if he wasn't so incredibly famous we may be listening more to the testimony's of the boys he abused. Peter King is right, we're condoning the sexual abuse of children by giving MJ accolades especially when there are shadows of doubt around his innocence. People - who can really say our western criminal justice system is about guilt versus innocence, moreover 'justice'. He may well have been acquitted, but for me that's just because money and celebrity speak louder than truth. The deluded accolades the public keep giving MJ do, undeniably, yet unfortunately condone sexual abuse.

Who has elected this P== of s+++ to office? and Justice? it is all economics baby, no such thing but we all live in a country where our Congressman are the first in line to write all these laws which end up proven MJ innocent; I truly believe he is, always did; I don't see god putting such a big talent and the gift to touch so many people's hearts in the hands of a perverted mind, it just won't add, but I know that god put the mighty gift of the speech on people like this "congressman"..after all this is a free country or so the constitution reads, we are guaranteed free of expresion and opinion; mine is simple we need to put some political stiches in such of a foul mouths, like this congressman Peter Pan or King or whatever his name is !!!

Here's the thing. THE TROOPS know Peter King could careless about them right now! HE IS JUST JEALOUS!!! Now, the media coverage will more than double ,lol and drown him OUT!!!!! CML says:

You are all crazy. Michael Jackson isn't a proven pedophile because he settled a case. That's the problem with our society being so litigious. People settle cases all the time just to make them go away. Would you want to sit in court all day long, while people paint you out to be a child molester?

Michael Jackson had the unfortune to have an abusive father who cared more for driving his son to fame than to care about his mental well being. He also had the bad luck of falling into a drug ridden dream world with some bad habits.

So what, the pill ridden housewives of Orange County get to prey on thier underage lawn boys and we don't care. Father's get to look up their teen daughter's friends skirts and we don't care.

Michael Jackson didn't send those kids over, the parents did. Shame on all of them. They deserve anything and everything that could have happened to any of their kids. And shame on you for not seeing how greed is the starter of this fire. One shred of partial truth (yes he did have children sleep in his bed) and all of the sudden he's having sex or touching them.

He was a confused and stupid boy, who was ignorant for his age, nothing more and nothing less.

JC says:

Congressman Peter King is what is wrong with America. He proves it with mouth and brains. I guess according to him, even when you are proven innocent in court of law you are always labled for what you were charged with. THAT IS NO RIGHT!!! If I were part of the Jackson Family, Executors of MJ's estate or the Record Company I would take him to the bank for Slander or what ever else I could get him on. MJ has children, they do not need to hear some idiot make statements like that. I also feel that the people he represents should do the right thing and take him out of office. he is an elected public official and when he makes public comments like he did, he represents and is talking for the the people of his state and his country (but, he is not speaking for everyone) I don't care what party this men is from, he is wrong for making statements like he has. Other officials have been made to give apologies for wrong/distasteful statements or even removed from office. Something needs to be done. MAYBE HE SHOULD BE MADE TO APOLOGIZE TO MICHAEL'S CHILDREN FIRST, THEN TO FAMILY, THEN TO HIS FANS and MOST OF ALL HIS COUNTRY!!!! Then remove him from office so he can see how it is to be a labeled person!!!!!!!

This fat, ill-opinionated, worhtless congressman is nothig but a joke! Michael Jackson was a humanitarian, a father, a son, a brother... He was so many things to so many people. He wasn't proven guilty in a court of law. Even if some don't agree with it, he was innocent in the minds of 12 people and in our great country, that is enough.

On the day this congressman dies, let's not make any fuss over him. He was not mentioned as a person who deserves to be honored in his waste breath he called a speech.

Boy does this piece of shit got nerve! The Republican party as a whole is nothing but a bunch of self serving degeneriants. Their either closet dick suckers molesting their male pages or their busy fucking around on their spouses, but their innocent until they get caught. Michael was a sweet man with a big hart which alot of people saw as a weakness, but was his greatest strength. As far as this loud mouth hypocrite Republicon is concerned I'm going to put this in a way Michael would have never said... FUCK YOU!!!

Jen says:

I can't believe what I am hearing. I am embarrassed to be an American when I hear this congressman speak this way about a dead person that cannot no longer defend himself. Doesn't anyone find it weird that Michael was accused twice and never found guilty? Doesn't that say anything to anyone. Well, it tells me people had their children say lies about Michael to get money from him. He was so ashamed and hurt that he thought settling it was the best way to get rid of the case. I'm a catholic, and I don't care if you are the wealthiest person in the world or the President of the U.S., if do something like this God will not let you go free, He will make sure you pay for it. So, this is why I don't believe in the bull about Michael molesting boys. If this were true then why did two women give custody of their children to him? Why didn't anyone ever take his children away? And what did his daughter say in the memorial?, "he was the best father ever". So to Congressman Peter King I say this, may God forgive you for bad mouthing a dead man. And for the record, we all honor and pray for our soldiers in Iraq and everywhere, as Michael Jackson also did. Michael was naive, depressed and hurt, but he never showed it on stage. He was a giving person.

Kendell says:

The problem with this society now is people can write about anything MJ or anyone else and there is no fact checking. MJ was the most investigated people in America in 93. The DA went to other countries to try and find children and he couldn't, but people that have (race) issues, don't want to remember that. Remember the DA's office close there investigation in 93 long before the settlement happen.

Yes the question is... If you're innocent why pay any money?

The other question is if you think he's guilty why take any money for it. What are you a pimp? Your son? A prostitute?

These are both equally disturbing questions?

My daughter was raised listening and admiring MJ and I have nothing bad to say about him except that I feel he suffered for all the bad things people thought and said about him, even though he was acquitted of all wrongdoing.Do politicians now get to pick and choose about the law and the courts after a person is acquitted.

It is possible that he always wanted to hang onto his childhood when life was filled with innocence and protection. He had problems and for those with comments about Jesus, wasn't it Jesus who said that he wanted the people with problems to come to him. I myself am a godless heathen but it seems that I may have more compassion than the so called "forgivers". I would like to remember MJ in his best moments and remember how much good he did in the entertainment industry and for those around him. Let us also remember he had children who have feelings as well and who worshipped their father-may he rest in the peace he could not find in life.

It's a known fact & it occurs all the time. In MJ's case, these kids/families had MILLIONS of reasons to lie. MJ was also acquitted so what ever happened to innocent until proven guilty? How could anyone blame him for "paying off" those families? If you have the money, many often chosoe to pay rather than risk Court.

RIP MJ!

This asshole obviously doesn't believe that
the our law says "Innocent until proven guilty"doesn't it? But then he's probably a born-again Republican and perhaps is looking at himself in the mirror.I hope his unfounded statements prevent him to be re-elected since we cannot have such IGNORANT IDIOTS to represent N.Y.or for any other state. There have been so many allegations about parent/teachers and even your next door neighbor that could be accused of sexual molestation and while being so called
interrogated by the police and/or social
workers actually have been convinced that they were molested and years later the person who was sent to jail upon a 4 or 5 year old child is totally ludicrous. I'm
sure if you had any intelligience whatsoever you'd definately read about some of these incidents where people were sentenced to 15 and 20 years and then found
innocent so get your shit together Congressman!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh well, what else might you expect from a YouTube poster named "ConservativeNewMedia"?

Sandy says:

For those who want to LEARN something else about MJ, there's a website called THE SILENT TRUTH about Michael Jackson :

http://www.thesilencedtruth.com/

And I take these words from there : "For the longest time, Mr. Jackson has been improperly portrayed by media representatives, receiving scarce or hardly any coverage for his remarkable work devoted to alleviating the lives of the less advantaged, especially to children from around the Globe, as he had publicly and privately demonstrated during his travels worldwide"

After visiting the website, just put a hand over your heart and think whether it's possible that somebody who gave SO MUCH to less advantaged children can be a child molester and all of those ridiculous accusations he had to face. Although no one ever proved that he molested anyone, there is no doubt that those who accused him just wanted money.

Matthew Jellock says:

I STILL CAN'T BELIEVE that there are people out there who think that Michael Jackson is this child-molesting freak! Who on earth asked this congressman about Michael Jackson? I don't care about the persona Jackson had. I care about the person that he was, a singer, a musician and a global superstar. Peter T. King, this message is intended as a threat to you, because sometimes its difficult to prove child molestation. I have a book about Jackson's trial and there was a chapter that discussed that. King, you may be a congressman but you don't know what molestation is. So why don't you focus on political issues instead of making slanderous comments about Michael Jackson, the KING OF POP!!!

Rest in peace, MJ 1958-2009
