A Delightfully Scatological Outtake from This Week's Cover Story, Starring Donald Glover and Writing Partner DC Pierson

For this week's cover story, Bill Jensen shadowed comedian/actor/emo rapper Donald Glover. For your enjoyment, we present this deleted scene.

Donald Glover is in Austin preparing to host the MTVu Woodies--an "awards" show which is really just an excuse to gather a bunch of bands and to represent MTV at SXSW. Glover has brought the shaggy-haired Pierson to be his writing partner and help him with the script for the one-hour show.

Foo Fighters are performing soundcheck, and Tyler from Odd Future just picked up a guy in a chicken suit onstage and slammed him to the ground, possibly breaking his arm.

Here Is A Video of Matt & Kim and Friends Riding Their Bikes Into Roseland Theater

As part of the MTV Woodies madness we chronicled here the other week. Later, the duo would actually win an award for the song's video, which had them streaking naked outside of MTV's Times Square studio (call it the circle of life). Later still, their bike entourage did keg stands. As Mary Louise Parker told the crowd then, "You're all so hammered you don't give a fuck what I say." Indeed. Still, as we'll say for something like the forty-five-hundreth time, we couldn't be happier for these two. They've gone from BK alternative living to soundtracking promos for NBC's Community to losing out to Jim Jones in a secret basketball tournament to winning MTV awards and riding their bikes into pretty much wherever they damn please, all without even having to put on clothes. That is a magical accomplishment right there.

"You're All So Hammered You Don't Give A Fuck What I Say": Live From The Woodies

Once a year, mtvU hosts the Woodies, an event that's a lot like the Teen Choice Awards, except that it caters to college kids and music-industry people who can say stuff like, "I started listening to that band, like, two years ago." The award show held their third gala at the Roseland Ballroom Wednesday night, a room filled with contest-winning ticketholders, nominees, MTV personalities, reality-TV stars (Roxy, you get the gas-face), and many, many red Solo cups. The whole "college" shtick was kind of cute, really. The nominees and performers were set up at brightly lit, sparkly bars instead of your usual plush audience seating. There were waiters walking around with burgers, fries, and brownies, with kegs stowed away for flip-cup and beer-pong tournaments. They covered everything from Gaga to Gossip Girl, and someone even got Kanye'd . . . but we'll get to that later.
