Let them eat cupcakes: The Beep's new press associate will have the task of making Marty Markowitz likeable—about as difficult as getting a bear to go potty in the woods. (Brooklyn BP)

Are you a "highly skilled individual" with an "interest in government and/or Brooklyn politics" and an "eagerness to learn and grow professionally?" More importantly, can you spell "fuggeddaboutit" without looking it up? If so, we've got the job for you—actually, Media Bistro does. Borough President and leading Brooklyn-phile Marty Markowitz is advertising for a communications associate who will "serve as a writer, researcher, and administrative assistant in the communications department" and "be responsible for writing and editing releases and letters relating to the Borough President's public role and his views, maintaining daily record of relevant news clips, researching issues and positions, and performing some clerical duties."

The full-time post requires a college degree, city residency, and "the ability to work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment." Given the beep's unwavering support for the Atlantic Yards plan, spelling developer Bruce's last name correctly (it's "R-A-T-N-E-R" not "R-A-N-T-E-R") is also probably a plus. If you can't do that, but you can rattle off "meningococcal meningitis" without a hitch, you might check out Bistro's other civil service offering today: director of communications for the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.
