So That's Where The Celebrity News Has Been Hiding: Rob Lowe's Blackmail Scandal and Jay-Z's Marital Status

It seems like it's been a good long while since either the Post or the Daily News has splashed some celebrity news on their weekday front pages. Today we get happy "scandal" with Jay-Z (is there a baby on the way for him and Beyonce?) in the Daily News and sordid scandal with Rob Lowe (did his nanny blackmail him?) in the Post. Both are just the tip of the iceberg of celeb news that is nowhere near the gossip pages and all over the front news sections of both papers.

The Jay-Z story has been all over the place for the past few days. There has yet to be official confirmation that the rapper tied the knot with singer Beyonce Knowles on Friday, although singer Mary J. Blige congratulated the couple during a concert Sunday. Now the News is speculating in Rush & Molloy's column that Knowles may be pregnant.

Rob Lowe, meanwhile, is battling his children's former nanny, who claims that Lowe made passes at her. The Brat Packer wrote about the plot on the Huffington Post. According to Lowe, Jessica Gibson threatened to go public with the allegations if Lowe and his wife, Sheryl Berkoff, didn't pay her $1.5 million. The star then went public with text messages from Gibson that show no mention of improper conduct. The Post of course can't let this go without mentioning Lowe's 1988 sex scandal, in which he was videotaped having sex with a 16-year-old girl he met at the Democratic National Convention.

Other celeb news in the news sections includes a classic: the "why does this person have an NYPD parking pass?" story. This time the Post nabs Nancy Shevell, Paul McCartney's girlfriend and MTA board member, using her pass for unofficial purposes including a trip to the tanning salon.

The Daily News covers the break-up of Gossip Girl star Chace Crawford and girlfriend Carrie Underwood via text message. In other "ex" news, Nicole Kidman and hubby Keith Urban have bought a mansion just a few blocks from Kidman's ex-husband Tom Cruise.
