'Die Hard Yuppie Scum' at the Bowery Wine Company

The time has finally arrived for John Penley's long-awaited protest of the Bowery Wine Company.

Starting at 8 pm outside the Atlanta strip mall-inspired wine bar on First Street, Penny Arcade will do some performance of sorts, the Rev. Frank Morales will sermonize about whether landlords can go to heaven, and LES Jewels will be doing who knows what, said Penley.

"LES Jewels, he's the G.G. Allin of the Lower East Side, especially when he's drunk, I told him not to pull his pants down and take a shit on a cop car," Penley said. "But I think the cops are on our side. My friend told me that even the cops told him 'We can't stand these yuppies down here. We'll take the Tompkins Square Park guys over these guys.'"

Penley says he's received a tremendous response and expects a big turn-out.

"There is just a general anger toward the white yuppies who are moving into the neighborhood," Penley said. "I think I've hit on something. This is only a build-up to the riot anniversary concert. I got a lot of street punks coming over there....I hope they don't they try and charge me with inciting a riot."
