Voice Choice: The President's Analyst

Categories: Voice Choices

If you were the president’s shrink, how long would you be able to stay quiet about his darkest secrets? About a fraction of a second? Yeah, us too. But for a real pro like James Coburn in The President’s Analyst, Theodore J. Flicker’s uproarious 1967 political satire, now playing at the Film Forum, keeping all those secrets confidential isn’t as troublesome as fighting off all the people who will do anything to learn them.

It doesn’t take long before Coburn finds himself on the run and forced to team up with a cast of zany characters, from a tribe of hippies to a gay Soviet spy. Given our current administration’s penchant for spying, we suspect The President’s Analyst will feel as fresh as ever. Through June 12, Film Forum, 209 West Houston Street, 212-727-8110, $10.50
