Irving's Night Out

Irving, Marine and Petland's gift for the man who has everything, escaped from its cage last Sunday morning and it took six policemen, the proprietor, and two employees to wrestle it back again.

Irving, who was subsequently discovered to be a female, is a 10-foot, 40-pound Indian rock python. The only victim of the snake's all-night foray through the pet shop, located at 63 West 14th Street, was a single parakeet, which was found crushed to death.
