In the Streets: Cab Crash, Subway Jumper, Falling Glass

cabsinflight.jpgThis morning around 9:30 a cab driving east on W. 44th Street hit a cab driving downtown on Broadway, and that cab hopped the traffic divider in front of the Times Square armed forces recruiting station, knocking over a lamppost and injuring six pedestrians, the New York Post reports. Some of the pedestrians -- "at least a few believed to be tourists," adds the New York Daily News -- were treated for minor injuries at the scene; some went to Bellevue.

At 5:30 am a "distraught man" climbed onto the tracks at the elevated Jackson Avenue subway station in the Bronx and threatened to jump into the street, says the Post. Cops came and took him to a hospital.

This afternoon a "piece of glass" fell from the 5th floor of 1 Times Square, per Fox News. Police shut down two lanes of traffic and the sidewalk on Broadway between West 42nd and 43rd Streets.
