Coney Island of the Mind Game? Sources Say City Wants Astroland Back

astrolandright.jpgThough Coney Island's Astroland closed on Sunday night, anonymous city officials tell the New York Daily News they are "pushing" to reopen the amusement park in a different, presumably nearby location, on land leased from the city.

This is contingent upon the city reaching an accommodation with current landlord Thor Equities, of course, and this idea, as Runnin' Scared has reported, was floated before and has gone nowhere.

The idea doesn't seem to excite Astroland owner Carol Albert. "Talk is cheap," her spokesman Joe Carella told the Daily News.
