Daily News Treats Public to Sarah Palin Imposter

fakepalinnews.jpgPalin's disinvitation to yesterday's UN Rally against Iran (which seemed to go off pretty well without her) deprived New Yorkers of another chance to meet the Republican Vice Presidential candidate, so the New York Daily News hired a Palin impersonator to walk around and fool citizens into giving reactions ("You're hot! But I hope you lose"). To get the most for their money, the News amplified its coverage with an interview with the impersonator, a comparison chart, and a gallery of setup and scenes from the public fraud. Webb, a member of the Upright Citizens Brigade comedy troupe, declares herself "a registered Democrat and a supporter of Barack Obama."

The real Palin will be in the city for meetings with world leaders this week, but her public face time is expected to be limited.
